Assisatant Professor Honda made a presentation on "General Overview of Japan's International Peace and Cooperation and 'Responsibility to Protect (R2P)' " at Asia-Pacific Centre for the Responsibility to Protect (R2P), Brisbane University in Australia. Honda overviewed thesecurity policy of the Japanese government,and gave the detailedactivities of Japan's peacebuilding and peacekeeping operations.Besides, from the perspective of the R2P concept, she discussed thepossibilities and limitations on the Japanese contributions to supportthe building of capacity to protect populations from genocide, warcrimes, ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity.
