Research objectives
- To improve and strengthen main argument of the dissertation I have been working on by presenting in an international conference before notable scholars, receiving comments and having fruitful discussions.
- To learn and develop skills necessary for future research activities, specifically, presentation and communication skills
- To help promote Global COE Program activities by participating in the Second International Conference of the Japanese Studies Association in Southeast Asia (JSA-ASEAN) aiming to promote Japanese Studies network in the region and enhance regional academic community.
Research project
- Attend the Second International Conference of the Japanese Studies Association in Southeast Asia (JSA-ASEAN), "Japanese Studies in Southeast Asia: The Past, Present and Future," in Hanoi, hosted by Vietnam Academy of Social Science, 22-23 October, 2009.
- Join the Panel on "Characterizing Japan's Security Policy" and be a presenter on "Understanding Japan's Post-Cold War Security Policy: Neoclassical Realism and domestic institutional constraints."
- Conduct further research and collect data in Bangkok, Thailand
- Publish the online proceedings on JSA-ASEAN website
