アジア研究に西洋の国際関係理論（IRT）は役立っているのか？アジアの経験は国際関係理論(IRT)に貢献できるのか？アチャリヤ教授は、「非西洋の国際関係理論は存在する。けれど、隠れている」と言う。アジアからの理論構築の可能性について、アチャリヤ教授と一緒に考える。

本セミナーでは、アチャリヤ教授本人の希望もあり、フロアからの質疑応答やディスカッションの時間を多く取り、活発な意見、質問が交わされた。なお、講演内容については、日本国際政治学会の英字誌International Relations of the Asia-Pacific Vol.7 Number 3 2007で確認できる。
